A Television Special About Alcoholism Symptoms Leads To Disappointing Emotions About A Female's Irresponsible Drinking

Sharon had been engaging in irresponsible drinking behavior since her senior year in college. Now, seven years later, she drank more than ever. One Tuesday night when she was feeling a little under the weather, Sharon decided to stay home, loosen up, and watch TV. While searching for something to watch that she would find exciting, she without delay became fascinated with a program about adolescent and young adult drinking problems.

The speaker defined the difference between alcohol abuse and alcoholism and then got into the topic of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the speaker went into detail about a person's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more widespread alcoholism signs and symptoms that alcohol dependent people manifest, Sharon got quite concerned because it basically seemed as if the speaker was talking specifically to her.

After watching the TV special, Sharon promised herself that she would telephone her doctor the following morning and make an appointment to discuss her careless and irresponsible drinking.

When the next workday arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her health care provider and made an appointment. In the meantime, she went online and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following signs or symptoms: sleep problems, making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, increasing frustration, serious employment and relationship difficulties, and sneaking a couple of drinks before social activities.

In a word, since Sharon experienced all of these signs she went deeper in her online search and found more than a few websites and blogs that highlighted various alcoholism warning signs and symptoms. One of the symptoms that really grabbed her interest was the following: "Do you frequently drink after stating to yourself that you won't?"

Another alcoholism symptom that caught her attention was the following: "Have people exasperated you by frowning on your irresponsible and hazardous drinking?" A third alcoholic warning sign was the following: "Do you want a drink when you first awaken in the morning?"

The final alcoholism warning sign that made her feel rather stressed about her irresponsible and abusive drinking was the following: "Has your motivation declined since you started drinking more habitually?" When Sharon read this sign she plainly realized that drinking had become a serious problem in her life because of her lack of energy and also because she gave up pursuing her passions and her goals.

After thinking about all of these damaging alcoholic signs and symptoms, Sharon at first felt sad. Then something wonderful happened. She reflected on the fact knew that she was going to see her health care professional about her irresponsible and abusive drinking and she also knew that she would discuss her alcoholic warning signs and symptoms.

In truth, for the first time in a number of months, Sharon honestly felt a sense of hope because she was dealing with her irresponsible and abusive drinking and was at last ready to make the necessary modifications so that she could reclaim the life that was drifting away.
