Iscar Adds Their Latest Innovations To A Long Line Of Effective Hole Making Solutions
Iscar recently released a number of different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These recent products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with fresh and innovative ways to boost productivity for the customer. Here is a little bit about these new products, and how they will benefit the end user of these drills.
SUMOCHAM Drills
ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced evolution of the extraordinarily thriving CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for various material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.
SUMOCHAM includes four different standard drill head geometries, designed for unmatched performance and high dependability. The drill head is manufactured with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are obtainable in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, continuous chip flow and a ground gash for improved penetration.
The drill shank design is in accordance to DIN 9766 standard, with available drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies feature coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion increases durability and decreases internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are precision ground, which increase the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will furnish longer tool life and greater productivity.
DR-DH Deep Drills
DR-DH drills can accomplish drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Designed to be employed on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of additional machine and setup can be avoided. They will be obtainable as semi-standard item in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").
Two versions will be available:
A Single Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FS is a very rigid tool that has a patented chip gullet design. It was built for easily cut materials comparable to cast iron and low alloyed steel.
A Double Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FD has a double chip gullet for enhanced chip flow. It was designed for drilling gummy materials like non-alloyed steel and high temperature alloys.
ISCAR DEEP HOLE DRILLS
With ISCAR's brand new solid carbide deep hole drills, you can easily drill up to 22 times diameter and reach bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This ability can speed up several high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it entirely because a drill breaks.
Other target applications encompass deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A aggregate of features assist the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and expel chips more surely. A unique high-strength core creates a more durable drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the departure path for chips.
