This summer was especially balmy, and being a starving college undergraduate, I was low on cash. This meant paying a high air conditioning monthly bill was out of the question. Luckily, I happened to be lending a helping hand with my buddy who was moving to a much more cold climate. I spied his oscillating pedestal fan by just sitting there, patiently waiting to deliver me from the oppressive heat wave that swept the location, suppressing free thought and relaxation on all who were in its overbearing grip.

Not to mention this bad boy was a pedestal fan with remote control. Hallelujah! My prayers had been answered by one of several pedestal fans. I could relax once more, no longer to be annoyed by the unruly climate. I could sit back comfortably also knowing that this thing wouldn't dig its heels into my almost lacking budget with power consumption.

The fact that it was sufficiently small to be portable was a blessing as well, mostly because I was too broke to afford one myself and so it can go with me anywhere I wanted to bring it.
